Restaurant App
Ziosk
Challenge
Ziosk has deployed proprietary restaurant tablets in casual restaurants across the United States providing payment, rewards programs, games, news, and other content. The device has been popular with payment, but customers were not interacting with any other content available. I was commissioned to maximize their proprietary deploying platform by developing an interface that enticed the user to interact with the device on their table.
The previous design consisted in a continuous slideshow, showcasing the different restaurant offerings. After some time the customers did no longer pay attention to the device. The goal was to increase the customer engagement. The new tile menu prompted interaction.
Process Work
A darker version of the UI was created to be placed at the bar area allowing the servers to quickly identify devices.
The traditional hamburger menu host content, and offer a familiar interface for customers to interact and explore.
The increased interactions on the main menu screen help fund more micro-apps such as gaming and magazine content and those are now live in the Ziosk devices.
